Mood Disorder / Depression / Anxiety & Chinese Medicine

(Patient testimonial 2015)

“When I first went to see Jason I went with the knowledge that acupuncture worked for pain. I had a whole list of health issues, the mood and anxiety disorder just being a couple of them. I did not expect any improvement in these areas as I had been treated by a very good psychiatrist for 7 years trying a host of medications in all kinds of combinations with no lasting improvement but a host of unbearable side effects. These disorders had narrowed my existence to where going out of the house even to the grocery store was a very difficult and painful event. The depression left me unable to function for days and I would often be suicidal.

Again, I was not seeing Jason for these issues I did not believe these conditions could be improved. After my first acupuncture treatment I felt so relaxed. This only lasted a couple days but a couple days without extreme anxiety was a true miracle and an extremely great vacation! I wanted two more days and went back. During the first two weeks my depressive mood disorder was stable, a coincidence? Maybe.

A couple days before my second appointment I burned my last bag of Chinese herbs and had no tea for a little over two days. My mood dropped. I was not able to function and barely able to force myself to my appointment with Jason. He told me the Chinese herbs were helping my mood.

He adjusted the acupuncture treatment, as he does each time, to meet my needs and by the time I left I felt so much better. I make my tea very carefully now! I’ve been seeing Jason for a little more than three months. My mood only went down slightly during this time and it was corrected with an acupuncture treatment. My anxiety which made life so unlivable is barely present. My energy is increasing and I can say I’ve been able to experience happiness for the first time in years! I am able to go out of the house, see friends and even have taken my dog on a few walks. Something not possible before.

I stopped taking a benzodiazepine which I took a large extended release dose daily for 10+ years and I was dependent on. I also stopped taking Ambien which I had also taken for 10+ years.

Jason is very knowledgeable with supplements and has helped me with these as well. Sleep has been hard to achieve but it gets better and better and I slept through the night last night! If the herbs and the acupuncture had not made such a huge change in my life I would not have written this. It was not an outcome I had been expecting but a very wonderful benefit! I am truly grateful for the knowledge and expertise Jason possesses.

I’m still in the process of getting to know Jason but I find him to be very professional, thorough, positive and friendly. He is sincere in his wanting to help improve your condition and I’ve enjoyed working with him. I continue to see Jason for my other health issues which are improving. I will post another review when I can say more about them.”
