Post-Surgical Knee Pain

I recently had bi-lateral knee replacement surgery necessitated by advanced osteo-arthritis.

After the surgery I was having a fair amount of discomfort and ‘muscle heat’ in the area of the incision, and great difficulty walking. As a skeptic of Eastern medicine, I was hesitant to utilize an alternative as I had previously received acupuncture for carpal tunnel and had not received the expected results. But at this point, I was willing to try anything that might help, and Kate came highly recommended.

During my treatment, Kate inserted several thin needles in various parts of my body and helped me to relax. Within 10 to 15 minutes I felt the heat and some of the discomfort dissipate almost as if on cue. After the treatment, my knee was noticeably less red and swollen, and I had less trouble walking. Since this one treatment, the heat and discomfort have not returned.

I have returned to see Kate for other various problems, and she has helped me a great deal.
